As the product is obtained from waste tyres, it is called tyre oil. Waste tyres have a considerable quantity of 40- 50% oil in them. Tyres are heated in a reactor, vaporized, and condensed to liquid fuel oil. Tyre oil, dark brown-colored fuel oil is an excellent substitute for furnace oil or industrial diesel with a flashpoint of 40℃. It contains large amounts of unsaturated compounds such as diolefins and aromatic hydrocarbons. If the oil is kept in the air, it forms a viscous polymer precipitate.
